The climate of the Land's End, in England, resembles that of the south of Devonshire, but is more relaxing. It is considered to be most likely to prove beneficial in consumptive cases, in which the disease is accompanied by an irritated state of the pulmonary mucous membrane, producing a dry cough. Where the system is relaxed, and the secretion from the lungs considerable, the climate, it is conceived, will generally prove injurious. As a brumal retreat, the southern coast of Devonshire would seem to be preferable to it.
