A Roman knight and miscellaneous writer; born about 105 B. C.; died at Puteoli, January 43 B.C. His writings consisted of farces, comic and satirical poems, an epic poem on Caesar's Gallic war, and a prose work containing anecdotes, etc. He was compelled by Caesar to appear on the stage in one of his own farces, thereby forfeiting his knighthood, which was restored to him by the dictator.
