The name given to an acanthopterygious fish of the genus Antennarius (A. hispidus), from its ability to use its pectoral fins as legs in traversing the land. These are set in a greatly elongated wrist, and are themselves stiff and powerful, their pointed rays resembling claws. It is a native of the Indian seas.
