A small, acuminated elevation of the cuticle, with an inflamed base; very seldom containing a fluid, or suppurating, and commonly terminating in scurf or desquamation. An eruption of pimples is called, in Devonshire, Murfles. Papulae form the first order of Willan and Bateman’s arrangement of cutaneous diseases.
