An English poet and dramatist; born (Ogle) 1768; died in London, May 17, 1854. Her singular gifts and her faculty for poetic imagery are richly shown in "Gonzalvo of Cordova" (1810); a drama, "Pedarias" (1811), a tragedy of ancient Peruvian civilization; and the five-act masterpiece "Ina"; in addition to which a series of "Translations from the Italian" are both spirited and accurate.
