A bandage, composed of a fillet or long compress, cleft at its extremities to within about two inches of its middle. It is used in diseases of the nose and chin, and especially in cases of fracture of the lower jaw. In such case it has, also,.been called Mentonniere, because placed beneath the ohin: from (F.) Menton, 'the chin.'
