An ointment, composed of yellow wax, black pitch, and resin, of each one part, olive oil, four parts. Hence it was called Unguentum Tetrpharmacum, - Celsus. Scribonius Largus.

In most Pharmacopoeias, it is represented by the Unguentum or Ceratum Resinoe. It is used as a stimulating ointment. See Ceratum Resinae, and Unguentum Resinae Nigrae.
