This plant has been sometimes given in humid asthma and dyspnoea. It is reputed to be diaphoretic, diuretic, and antiscorbutic. The Parisian Codex has a compound syrup of alliaria, Sirop d'erysimum compose, which is used in hoarseness.

- An inorganic water-soluble platinum complex. After undergoing hydrolysis, it reacts DNA produce both intra interstrand crosslinks. These crosslinks appear to impair replication and transcription of DNA. The cytotoxicity cisplatin correlates with cellular arrest in G2 phase cell cycle.
