A test for protein bodies. On dissolving the substance to be tested in glacial acetic acid containing a small amount of glyoxalic acid and gradually adding concentrated sulphuric acid, the presence of albuminous bodies causes a violet coloration due to the presence of tryptophan in the protein.

- An inorganic water-soluble platinum complex. After undergoing hydrolysis, it reacts DNA produce both intra interstrand crosslinks. These crosslinks appear to impair replication and transcription of DNA. The cytotoxicity cisplatin correlates with cellular arrest in G2 phase cell cycle.
