The Globular projection of the circles of a sphere is the same as the stereographic, except that the point of projection is removed from the sphere by a distance equal to the sine of 45 A chart drawn on this projection is a G. chart. The ordinary map, in which the surface of the world is represented on two circles, is-save or a few convenient inaccuracies -a G. chart of the eastern and western hemispheres.
