A Venetian merchant and writer of travels; lived in the 16th century. He visited Aleppo, spent the years 1579-88 in India, and published "Journey in the East Indies" (1590). It contained the first European description of India beyond the Ganges.

Dopamine Acetyltransferase
- An enzyme that catalyzes the of groups from acetyl-CoA to arylamines. They have wide specificity for aromatic amines, particularly serotonin, and can also catalyze acetyl transfer between arylamines without CoA. EC 2.3.1.5.
