This agreeable Italian city is by no means a favourable residence for the phthisical invalid. Sir James Clark affirms, indeed, that he does not know any class of invalids for whom Florence offers a favourable residence. It is subject to sudden vicissitudes of temperature, and to cold, piercing winds during the winter and spring.
