(F.) Cucurbilin. This name was formerly given to the Taenia solium, because composed of rings which resemble the seeds of the gourd, - cucurbita. The ancients believed, that the rings, which are sometimes discharged, were so many separate worms. See Taenia.

- An inorganic water-soluble platinum complex. After undergoing hydrolysis, it reacts DNA produce both intra interstrand crosslinks. These crosslinks appear to impair replication and transcription of DNA. The cytotoxicity cisplatin correlates with cellular arrest in G2 phase cell cycle.
